shows the Civil Government's signalling requirements for the
Peak Station. In addition hourly readings between 6 A.M. and 8
P.M. from the anemometer at the Station are required to be
telephoned to the Harbour Office for communication to the
Observatory. The Civil requirements as regards Cape D'Aguilar
are confined to the transmission of messages from and to hagian.

Stations are as follows:-

PEAK:-
Signalman...
Chinese Assistant.
Watchman..

I would remaind you that at the present
time both Cape D'Aguilar and the Peak Stations are connected
with the Barbour Office by Telephone through the Office of the
Joint Telegraph Companies. It is proposed, however, to provide
on next year's Colonial Estimates for bringing the lines from
The these as well as from other Signal Stations direct to the
Harbour Office, for substituting telegraph for telephone ins-
-trument, and for the provision of the European telegraphists
referred to in paragraph 2 above. It is unlikely that this
provision will be completed before the middle of next year.
